Fatal System Error Pseudo Book Review

Fatal System Error: The Hunt for the New Crime Lords Who are Bringing Down the Internet

Pseudo Book Review since its not "really" a tech book. The book is written with very little technical jargon and its an interesting read with a mix of information on Barrett Lyon who fought DDOS attacks against various websites, the ties of online gambling and the mob with a transition into the fight by Andy Crocker, a British cybersecurity agent, against the Russian and eastern block carding cybercriminials. An entertaining read about the history of carding and denial of service attacks by eastern block criminals.

As someone who was there to see the behind-the-scenes story of what later became Lyons self-indulgent fantasy of a cyber criminal under-world hell bent on a mission to take him down, while he struggled with his own moral obligations to society to do the right thing... The entire book is false. Very little of what is in this book actually happend, and Lyon by no means accurately depicts his involvement. He does very little to credit the folks who were involved and did the actual research/work and most of it plays Lyon as some sort of internet-super-hero.
It's a fun read, but it's a big heap of bullshit.
